Hands Off
Resist the urge to touch or twist your new piercing—your hands can introduce unwanted bacteria. Let it heal naturally without any interference to keep it looking its best.
Comfort Measures
Avoid sleeping on your new piercing. Try using a travel pillow to keep pressure off your fresh piercing.
Pro Drying Tip
Set your hair dryer on low heat to gently dry your piercing, or use gauze swabs for a clean and easy dry.
LOVE your NEW PIERCING
Expectations
In the first 2-3 weeks, you might experience some redness, soreness, debris, spot bleeding, and swelling—these are all normal parts of the healing journey.
Keep it Clean
Cleanse your piercing daily with a sterile saline solution, spraying both the front and back. Avoid using materials like cotton pads to dry—these can leave behind fibres.
Keep it Dry
Avoid soaking your new piercing in water, keep it dry during showers and steer clear of steam rooms—moisture can irritate the healing process.
Downsizing
After around 4-6 weeks, it’s time for a downsizing appointment, to shorten the stem of your jewellery to ensure it fits perfectly as your piercing continues to heal.
Jewellery Care
After downsizing, keep your jewellery in place for at least 3-4 months to allow your piercing to fully heal. Changing or removing it too early can disrupt the process.
